COVID-19 Procedures

When returning uniform pieces, the clothing that is returned must be thoroughly washed by the cadet/parent and placed in a plastic bag, labelled on the outside with the cadet’s name and rank. (use masking tape and a marker ON the outside of the bag). The squadron will announce certain days for uniform parts to be returned, or they may be returned on a parade night. On those days/nights, the uniform bag will be taken directly to Supply. Receipt of the uniform will be acknowledged by the SupO or designate. Do not drop the bag without someone to take it.

The Department of National Defense approves and issues on loan, the uniforms worn by Air Cadets. The care and custody of all items of clothing are your responsibility. The uniforms you will be issued are the DEU (dress uniform for parades and ceremonial activities) and FTU (Field Training uniform for general activities and field training). The dress uniform includes parade boots, socks, pants, shirt, tunic, belt, necktie, and garrison cap (wedge), and a toque, liner and parka for winter. The FTU consists of trousers, jacket, blue t-shirt, tilley hat, and boots.

You will be directed to go to Supply for a uniform fitting and issue at the appropriate time, although these may not be at the same time. DO NOT go to Supply unless directed to do so. You will wear your uniforms for all regular training. You are NOT to wear parts of the uniform with parts of civilian clothing.

Check the Weekly Routine Orders for the correct Order of Dress, to ensure you wear the right uniform for the correct activities. Check the Uniform Dress Regulations if you are unclear on what the Order of Dress is.

Responsibility for the Uniform
You are responsible for all parts of your uniform. Do not leave your uniform lying around. Mark your name in every piece of your uniform with a Fabric Pen. Return damaged or poorly fitting parts of your uniform to the Cadet Squadron supply and get new parts. If you lose any part of your uniform, ensure you report the loss to the Supply Officer as soon as possible. You must return your uniform promptly if you leave the Cadet Squadron. Be sure that you receive a receipt for any parts of your uniform that you return.

To request a uniform replacement part(s), use the Uniform Measuring Instructions below to ensure you are requesting the correct replacement. Use the Uniform Order/Change Request form to order the replacement.
