756 Wild Goose Squadron is pleased to offer the following optional training programs:
Squadron Band
When: Late September to June, Thursdays 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The 756 Squadron Band is a military brass and reed marching band, practicing weekly and performing at monthly CO’s Parades, the Annual Ceremonial Review, Remembrance Day parades, Santa Claus Parades and other activities within the community. Open to cadets that can read sheet music, can play an instrument, and have prior musical experince.
Drill Team
When: Late September to June, Thursdays 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
The 756 Squadron Drill Team demonstrates peak military drill and ceremonial on the parade square. Practicing throughout the year, the Drill Team competes in the annual Central Region band and drill competition at CFB Borden and performs at the Annual Ceremonial Review.
Marksmanship Team
When: October to February, Sundays 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The 756 Squadron Marksmanship Team begins practices in the fall and competes at the Zone Marksmanship Competition in February each year. The team consists of a senior team and a junior team of cadets, based on age. Interested cadets are selected based on their performance at range tryouts in September.
Advanced Engines Program
When: January to May, Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The Advanced Engines Program delivers a unique opportunity for cadets to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the operation of vehicle engines through classroom lessons. The program takes cadets into the "shop" to get hands on experience building a real working engine. This program is open to all cadets and parents interested in getting their hands greasy in the garage.
